As old as time, numbers have played a huge part of our everyday lives…right back to Pythagoras..the Master of Numbers. Numerology is based on numbers, patterns and the correlation between them – all so fascinating.

It can become very involved however, to keep it simple, let’s start from the beginning – principally there is a 9 year cycle and in which there is an association with the various numbers and less/more preferable times for change, moving, relationships, etc.

Generally speaking some of which are

1 – expression and the key to our communication skills

2 – feelings/being part of a duality or a pair (couple)/intuition

3 – thinking/mental/memory

And so it continues. To establish what “Year” we are in (ie Year Number) let us look at an example.

DOB 20.7.1972

Male

As this is the year of 2020, what we do with the above-mentioned DOB is change it to 20.7.2020.

From there we break the number down into individual digits, as follows –

2 + 0 + 7 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 0 = 13

Because the cycle is only up to number 9, we need to convert this to a single digit, as follows –

13 then becomes 1 + 3 = 4, so the male with the DOB 20.7.1972 is in a Personal Year number of “4”.

Interestingly there are some Personal Years such as 1 and also 9 which are known as “peak years” being excellent years for change, and others which are not so preferable such as the trough years of 4 and 7. So for the person in the above example, this may not be the year to start a business or buy real estate, move house, etc.

Another aspect of Numerology, which is probably more well known, is our “Ruling Number” using the same concept as above, this time with the actual DOB information, we can determine what number someone is –

With 20.7.1972

2 + 0 + 7 +1 + 9 + 7 + 2 = 28

With Ruling Numbers we are to convert this to a number between 1-11 (except where the total comes to 22, 33 and 44 as they are Master Numbers) then this becomes –

28 = 2 + 8 = 10

Therefore the person is known is a Ruling 10.

Generally speaking Ruling 10 people can be a little too easy with things such as financial situations, etc.
